Match programs for football, rugby, or any sport really, are usually pretty boring and are images of the players or the manager, YAWN. Since people now have the internet in their hands and can look up any pertinent information on the fly, match programs have become more of a souvenir for fans looking for a memento.
Wolves have flipped the script on the fading popularity of match programs, by making each of their home editions this season bona fide collector’s items. That is, assuming each subsequent program cover is as good as this one...
Pretty EPIC yeah?! Wolves have teamed up with Alexander Wells, a Freelance Illustrator from the UK (@WellsIllustrate) and could see an array of different covers on show for the rest of the season.
Wolves released that sneak peek ahead of their Football League Championship clash against Reading on Saturday. If that doesn’t get you hyped for the match, I don’t know what will.
Here is the official twitter account of the club releasing the cover art.
We're looking forward to the rest of the programme covers, until Wigan that is? What's Wigan's mascot again? Anyhow it will surely be a hit! Keep it up guys.
