What now for social media

I have so many questions emailed in to me about what is next for social media or how a business can better use social media, the first thing I ask is if the business is using social media ads, and specifically Facebook ads to reach more and new people.

So what now for social media?? Gone are the days of playing this social media marketing game for free, time to have a go at paid advertising. Many are put off by using facebook ads because they think it's complicated but also because they think they have to spend hundreds of pounds per month, both are wrong. Yes you can make it complicated and yes you can spend hundreds of pounds but if you're budget and time is tight you can still make it work for you.

If you are using Facebook ads and facebook in general for your business the next step is to look at your content, are you using video? It doesn't have to be LIVE video and to be honest it doesn't have to be perfect either but do invest in some equipment like a tripod and a mic if you are going to use it for your business.

I don't use video for my business yet, it's not that i don't want to but i don't think i have the right face for video in my opinion (face for radio) so I prefer to blog more, if you don't use video and aren't planning to you can still post you content in written format but just use interesting images to go with your content.

Another pull away from video is to use video on Instagram as much as you can, if you can use your instagram stories too, these are positioned in a great place at the top of everyone's feed when they open Insta so use stories as much as you can.

Social media is all about being social with your audience, don't neglect any comments or questions to your tweets or posts, download the Facebook pages app and have the notifications on twitter and insta switched on so you don't miss a thing.
